2011 Preseason All-Conference and All-American Candidate

2010 (RFr.): Second team All-Big South, starting 11 of 12 games at left tackle (did not start the VMI contest due to injury, but still played) ... Graded out tops among the CCU front five for the season ... Helped Coastal allow just seven sacks --or 0.58 per game, best in the Big South and third nationally ... Stat is key in that Coastal had allowed 25 in both 2009 and '08 with Cheatwood being the new member of the group ... Coastal had five games without allowing a sack, including at West Virginia and Western Illinois in the NCAA playoff, and did not allow more than one sack in any one game ... Helped Coastal rush for 22 TDs, second-best in the Big South behind Stony Brook's 26, and pass for 23 TDs, second best in the Big South behind Liberty's 26 ... Helped Eric O'Neal set a school record (and lead the Big South) with 781 rushing attempts and Zach MacDowall set a school record with 347 pass attempts.

2009 (Fr.): Practiced but did not see game action taking a redshirt.

Prior to Coastal Carolina: Earned varsity letters his final three years at Boiling Springs ... Selected to play in the 2008 North-South All-Star Game in Myrtle Beach his senior year ... Named to the Class AAAA All-State squad by the High School Sports Report as well as Honorable Mention All-State from The State ... Also a First Team Spartanburg Herald-Journal All-Area honoree his final two years, as well as the team's top offensive lineman ... Graded out at more than 90 percent and recorded more than 60 pancake blocks his senior season.

Personal: Son of James Cheatwood and Linda Nicholls.
