CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University men’s basketball team received a vote in the latest ESPN/USA TODAY Coaches’ Poll, it was announced Dec. 14.
The Chanticleers have started the season with an 8-2 record, its best start since the 1981-82 season. The start includes a home win against the College of Charleston, a neutral-site win against Indiana State and Big South road wins at VMI and Liberty. The Chanticleers lead the Big South in scoring defense, scoring margin, field-goal percentage, field-goal percentage defense and rebounding margin.
Coastal tied with Northern Iowa and Baylor for a tie for 49th with one vote in the coaches’ poll.
The Chants are at Georgia Southern Tuesday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m., in Statesboro, Ga.
