CHARLOTTE, N.C. (BigSouthSports.com) – The Big South Conference today announced that digital cable channel WMBF News XTRA in Myrtle Beach, S.C. has been added to the Conference’s men’s basketball television coverage for its two games later this week. The channel, a subsidiary of WMBF-TV, will simulcast Thursday’s Coastal Carolina at VMI game live at 9:00pm, as well as Friday’s UNC Asheville at Gardner-Webb contest live at 7:30pm. Both games are part of the Conference’s men’s basketball television package on the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN).
WMBF News XTRA programming is available over the air on channel 32.2, as well as Time Warner Cable (Channel 808), HTC (Channel 92) and MetroCast Cable (Channel 101).
The Big South previously announced that MASN would televise six men’s basketball games in 2009-10, in addition to SportSouth broadcasting one contest this season. ESPNU will be the television home of the Advance Auto Parts Men’s Basketball Championship Semifinals on Thursday, March 4, while ESPN2 will televise the Big South Championship game on Saturday, March 6 at 4 pm.
