CONWAY - Coastal Carolina men's basketball team will look to extend its five game winning streak on Saturday, Nov. 26 in Miami, Fla. Tip-off is set for 7:30 at U.S. Century Arena.
ABOUT FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL
Florida International enters the game with a 1-3 record after losing three straight. Saturday's game marks the home opener for FIU after playing two road games and two games on a neutral court. The lone FIU win came against George Mason in its season opener. The Panthers currently have three players averaging in double-figures led by Phil Taylor with 15.5 points per game and 5.0 assist per game.
THE SERIES
Saturday's game marks the first meeting between FIU and CCU.
LAST TIME OUT
Coastal defeated Clemson 60-59 on Tuesday night for the first time in six games against the Tigers... Chris Gradnigo grabbed his own offensive rebound and tipped in a buzzer beating shot to send the Chants to 5-0 on the year... The Chanticleers trailed by 12 points late in the first half but went on a 16-5 run over the next 7:39 to pull within one point at the 14:36 mark of the second half... Coastal took its largest lead of the night at the 8:47 mark on a pair of free throws by Kierre Greenwood... Clemson rallied and built a four-point lead on a three-pointer by Tanner Smith with 1:46 remaining, but Coastal held the Tigers without a basket the rest of the game, giving Clemson its second loss of the year.
TAMING THE TIGERS
Coastal improves to 2-0 agaisnst BCS schools this year, both of which mascots are the Tigers. This is the first time that the Chants have defeated two schools from BCS conferences during the same season in school history.
DOUBLE TIME
Junior guard Anthony Raffa has recorded double-figures in points in each of his last 14 games, dating back to Feb. 12 of last season... Raffa is currently leading the Chanticleers in scoring, averaging 17.6 points per game... Raffa was the top returning scoring with 11.7 points per game last year.
WE'RE GOING STREAKING
Coastal is off to its first 5-0 start to the season since 1981-82 when they started the year 8-0 before falling to the College of Charleston 73-66 on Dec. 2, 1981.
