Men's Basketball Washed Out at McNeese State

LAKE CHARLES, LA. -- Coastal Carolina's men's basketball team had one of the most unique events in the program's history occur Saturday, Nov. 24 at McNeese State-- it was rained out.

The Chanticleers were scheduled to tip off with the Cowboys at MSU's Burton Coliseum at 1 p.m. CST while heavy rain was hitting the area. Upon arrival at the arena, the squads and officials discovered puddles of water in the center jump circle. After repeated moppings, the officials delayed the game 30 minutes, had the teams warming up on each end while keeping everyone out of the jump circle. After 15 minutes, puddles had again formed on the floor and the officials deemed it unsafe for play. After discussions with both coaches and game management, the game was cancelled and will not be made up.

Coastal is back in action, hopefully, at Houston on Monday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. CST. The game will be played at Hofheinz Pavilion.
