CONWAY - Coastal Carolina men's basketball team will host the Spalding Golden Eagles on Friday, Nov. 18 at 7:00 p.m. in Kimbel Arena.

Coastal is coming off its second win in as many years against Southeastern Conference foe LSU, 71-63, Tuesday night in Conway.

SERIES NOTES

Tonight's matchup marks the first game in the series between the Division III Golden Eagles of Spalding and Coastal Carolina... Spalding is one of three Division III teams that the Chanticleers will face this season... Coastal has beat Methodist University of Fayetteville, N.C and Covenant College from Lookout Mountain, Ga.

ABOUT SPALDING

Spalding University is located in Louisville, Ky., and competes at the Division III level in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The 1000 student school recorded a 19-9 record during last season with a 13-3 conference record.

WE'RE GOING STREAKING

Coastal is off to its first 3-0 start to the season since 1992-93 when the Chanticleers made the NCAA tournament for only the second time in school history. The Chanticleers best start to a season was during the 1981-82 campaign when they started 8-0 before falling to the College of Charleston 73-66 on Dec. 2.

GEAUX FIGURE

Coastal defeated LSU on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 71-63 for the second time in as many years. The Chanticleers out rebounded the Tigers 53-34 while holding them to 35.4 percent shooting from the field. Anthony Raffa led all scores with 20 points and 10 rebounds for his first career double-double. Sam McLaurin added a career-high 16 rebounds while scoring 13 points and blocking three shots. Coastal moved to 2-0 all-time against LSU and 3-10 against schools currently playing in the Southeastern Conference.

HOME COOKIN'

With the win over Covenant, Coastal improved to 29-10 in home openers dating back to the 1974-75 season. The Chanticleers have won three-straight home openers, falling to Coker College during the 2008-09 season 80-59.
