CONWAY - As we count down to tipoff, each day GoCCUSports.com will profile the lighter side of the Chanticleer Basketball teams. Today's student-athletes to be profiled are El Hadji Ndieguene and Shatia Cole.

El Hadji Ndiegune

  1. What is your personal goal for this season? Help the team get to the NCAA Tournament.
  1. What got you started in basketball? I don’t even remember.
  1. What is your plan after college, if you do not become a professional athlete? Become a diplomat.
  1. Where is your hometown? Thies, Senegal.
  1. What motivates you on the court? Remembering rough years I had battling injuries and doubts.
  1. How do you help the team stay focused during the season? Talk when I have to.
  1. Who is your role model? My father.
  1. What would you say to your biggest fan? I can’t thank you enough.
  1. Do you have a motto or saying you live your life by? Talk less, do more.
  1. What is your biggest pet-peeve? Fakeness.
  1. What is your favorite pre-game meal? Pasta.
  1. Do you have any superstitions? Praying.
  1. What teams are you most excited to play this year? All of them.
  1. What is your most favorite moment in your basketball career? Being on the cover of ESPN Magazine.
  1. If you could be an animal what would you be? A lion.

  1. What is your personal goal for this season? Give my all.
  1. What got you started in basketball? My dad.
  1. What is your plan after college, if you do not become a professional athlete? Become a professional athlete.
  1. Where is your hometown? Conway, Senegal.
  1. What motivates you on the court? Making my father proud.
  1. How do you help the team stay focused during the season? Motivate everyone and work hard in practice.
  1. Who is your role model? I don’t have one.
  1. What would you say to your biggest fan? Never give up on your dreams.
  1. Do you have a motto or saying you live your life by? Keep your head up.
  1. What is your biggest pet-peeve? When people repeat themselves.
  1. What is your favorite pre-game meal? Eggs Up Grill.
  1. Do you have any superstitions? No.
  1. What teams are you most excited to play this year? All of them, but especially North Carolina and Liberty.
  1. What is your most favorite moment in your basketball career? Winning the state championship my junior year of high school.
  1. If you could be an animal what would you be? A snake.
