CONWAY, S.C. Redshirt senior Torrey Butler scored a game-high 16 points, while senior Derrick Robinson added 15, as the Coastal Carolina Men's Basketball team defeated the U.S. Air Force All-Stars, 70-63 in an exhibition game Wednesday night in Kimbel Arena.
The Chanticleers got points from nine of 11 players who saw action on the court. Joining Butler and Robinson in double-figures were Mihai Raducanu (12 points) and Alvin Green (11 points). Green also dished out a game high eight assists in the contest.
" Alvin Green really played well for us tonight," said CCU coach Pete Strickland. "He dictated the pace of the game well, and helped create alot of good looks for us." " It was also great to see Mihai and Torrey back on the court tonight. They worked hard to get back from the injuries they suffered last season."

USAF jumped out to a 9-6 lead three minutes into the game, but CCU closed the gap with a 20-9 run over the next ten minutes to take a eight point lead at 26-18. However, USAF would not go away, as they would go on a 12-4 run to tie the Chants at 30-30 at halftime.
CCU retook the lead at 35-34 with 17:58 remaining on a jump shot by Robinson, and would never trail again, although USAF pulled with in five at 61-56, with 3:13 left.
