Men's Hoops Hands Out End-of-Season Awards

The Chants handed out hardware at their end-of-season awards banquet.

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University men’s basketball team held its end-of-the-year awards banquet Monday, March 29 at the Kline Hospitality Suite in Brooks Stadium.  The Chanticleers gave away individual awards as well as shared a season-ending highlight video.  Here is a list of individual awards given out at last night’s banquet.

 

Tony Dunkin Award (team’s leading scorer):  Chad Gray

Best Assist-to-Turnover Ratio: Danny Nieman

Robert Dowdell Award (team’s leader in assists): Kierre Greenwood

Steve Hardy Award (team’s leader in free-throw percentage): Mario Edwards

Best Rebounder: Joseph Harris

DuWayne Cheatum Award (Best Defender): Sam McLaurin

Mr. Hustle: Joseph Harris

Leadership Award: Logan Johnson

Scholar-Athlete Award: Logan Johnson

 

The Chanticleers won a school-record 28 games this past season and advanced to postseason play for the first time since 1993.  The Chants won the Big South regular-season championship for the first time since 1991 and hosted the Big South Men’s Basketball Championships for the first time in school history.
