KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Coastal Carolina University men’s basketball redshirt-senior Joseph Harris (Lejeune, N.C./Lejeune) has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches First Team All-District 3 Team, the organization announced today.

Harris is averaging 14.4 points and 9.7 rebounds a contest this season for the 28-6 Chanticleers.  He is shooting 52.4 percent from the floor and leads the team with 63 steals.  He leads the team and is 16th in the nation with 16 double-doubles and had a season high 24 points in wins over Bridgewater and UNC Asheville.  Harris had 19 rebounds in the win over Charleston Southern Feb. 20 and went 13-of-14 from the free-throw line in the win over Indiana State in the NIT Season Tip-Off.

Harris is joined on the All-District 3 First Team by Radford’s Art Parakhouski, Jacksonville’s Ben Smith, Lipscomb’s Adnan Hodzik and Mercer’s James Florence.  High Point’s Nick Barbour and Charleston Southern’s Jamarco Warren were on the Second Team.

Coastal Carolina faces UAB Tuesday, March 16 in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament.  Tip off is at 8 p.m. EDT (7 p.m. CDT).
