Men's Basketball Heads to Arkansas
Conway - Now that the Coastal Carolina men’s basketball team has completed the home portion of its schedule, the Chanticleers will now hit the road to end the regular season before moving on to New Orleans for the Sun Belt Conference Championship.
CCU (12-16, 6-9 Sun Belt) will start off the three-game road swing in Arkansas at Little Rock (6-21, 3-11 Sun Belt). The 8 p.m. (ET) match up will be played Thursday, Feb. 22 at the Jack Stephens Center.
The Chants won the first game of the season between the two teams back on Jan. 27 at the HTC Center. The teams were even at 35 at halftime and CCU pulled away in the second half by shooting over 52 percent and hold the Trojans to 28 percent in the 72-62 win.
Following that game, CCU will make the two-hour trek east to Jonesboro and play Arkansas State Saturday, Feb. 24 at 8 p.m. That game will be carried on ESPN3.
The Redwolves enter the week of action 9-18 overall and 4-10 in the Sun Belt. On Jan. 25, CCU defeated Arkansas State 62-47 in Conway.
The final game of the regular season will be played March 3 in Boone, N.C., at Appalachian State. The game will take place at the Holmes Center and will also be shown live on ESPN3 beginning at 3:30 p.m.
The Mountaineers (12-16, 7-8 Sun Belt) defeated CCU in Conway 81-66 back on Feb. 10. App State enters this week just one game ahead of CCU in the Sun Belt rankings.
Over the final few games of the season, only 2.5 games separate CCU from third place in the conference standings.
All three games will be carried live on the Chanticleer Sports Network. Other live options can be found at goccusports.com.
