CONWAY, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina men's basketball team continues to receive national recognition and received votes for the third straight week in both the Associated Press and ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll on Monday.
The Chanticleers picked up 26 votes and check in this week ranked 28th in the NCAA in the AP Poll, and Coastal Carolina is 29th in the country after receiving 15 votes in the Coaches Poll. Both totals are the most in school history.
Coastal is also ranked eighth in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Poll.
Coastal Carolina extended its school and Big South-record winning streak to 20 games following a 99-86 victory over VMI Saturday afternoon. The Chants are also owners of the second-longest winning streak in the NCAA and trail only top-ranked Ohio State's 24-game streak.
The Chanticleers have not lost since falling Nov. 18 to No. 11 Georgetown in the Charleston Classic. Coastal is also currently projected as a No. 13 seed in the NCAA Tournament in the latest edition of ESPN Bracketology.
Coastal also owns a perfect 13-0 record inside the Big South and recently clinched hosting a first round game in the upcoming Big South Tournament. Fans interested in attending the first round game must pre-register for tickets through the Coastal Carolina Ticket Office.
Because there will be less seats available, due to Big South requirements, Coastal Athletics and the Chanticleer Athletic Foundation (CAF) will allocate tickets based on donor levels and season ticket longevity for each contest.
