CONWAY, S.C. - Joseph Harris scored 22 points and had 13 rebounds in 17 minutes to lead the Coastal Carolina University men's basketball team (5-2) to a 97-44 win over Allen (3-6) Nov. 28 in Conway, S.C. Harris also set Coastal Carolina's all-time rebounding mark in the win.

Harris was one of five Chanticleers in double figures. Mario Edwards had 20 points, while Kierre Greenwood had 13 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Dexter Moore added 11 points on three three-pointers, while Chris Evans had his first career double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Coastal jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first 5:40 and led by as much as 21 points in the first half after an old-fashion three-point play from Greenwood. Harris already had a double-double in the first 20 minutes with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Greenwood had 11 first-half points.

Coastal Carolina shot 56.8 percent in the second half and had 32 caroms in the last 20 minutes to seal the win. The Chants led by as much as 55 points with 5:15 left on a three-point play from Danny Nieman.

Allen was led by Martavious Wimberly, who had 14 points, while Jordan Daniel had eight rebounds.

Coastal Carolina ended the game with 60 rebounds, which is just six off a school record. They also had 23 assists, six blocks and eight steals. Harris broke William Calvin record that was set in 1988. Harris now has 897 rebounds in his career.

Sam McLaurin added four blocked shots in just 17 minutes of action as all 13 players that were dressed played and 11 scored.

The Chanticleers open their Big South Conference schedule Thursday, Dec. 3 against VMI in Lexington, Va. The game will tip at 9 p.m., and will be televised on the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN, DirecTV channel 640).
