LEXINGTON, Va. – Desmond Holloway tied a career-high with 25 points and Coastal Carolina won its 11th straight game with a 109-87 victory over VMI Thursday night from Cameron Hall.

Coastal Carolina (13-2, 4-0) opened the second half on an 14-4 run in the opening minutes of the second half to turn a 52-43 halftime lead into a 66-47 lead. Holloway scored nine straight points during the run and at one point had 13 straight Coastal points.

Coastal junior post Jon Pack hit a jumper in the paint off an inbounds play from the baseline as time expired to cap the run and give the Chanticleers their biggest lead of the game.
The Chants were without the services of two of their top scorers from most of the first half as both Chad Gray and Mike Holmes were limited due to foul trouble. In fact, neither Gray nor Holmes were in the game during Coastal’s run at the end of the half.
Coastal returns to action Saturday evening at 6 p.m. when the Chants travel to Lynchburg, Va., to take on Liberty from the Vines Center. The game will be televised live on MASN.
