David Long is in his second year as the Graduate Head Manager of the Coastal Carolina University men's basketball team.

Long is very familiar with Coastal Carolina, as he played for the Chanticleers from 2005-06 to 2007-08. He played in 37 games in his Coastal Carolina career, including 21 in his final season in a Chanticleer uniform. In 2007-08, Long recorded career-highs of 12 points and seven rebounds in a buzzer-beating win over Charleston Southern Feb. 2 and had six points and six rebounds at VMI Feb. 9. He started four games in a row in February and ended the season with a +1.4 assist-to-turnover ratio.

Long transferred to Coastal from Lakeland College in Wisconsin. He was selected to the Lake Michigan Conference All-Rookie team his freshman year after helping the Muskies to a conference championship.

A native of Chapin, S.C., Long was a 2001 graduate of the Hammond Academy. He helped Hammond to three consecutive region titles and a South Carolina Independent School Association state as a sophomore.

Long graduated from Coastal Carolina in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He resides in Myrtle Beach.
