Sappelt Named Dernell Stenson MVP at Arizona Instructional League

Former Coastal Carolina University baseball outfielder David Sappelt was named the Dernell Stenson Most Valuable Player at the conclusion of the Arizona Fall Instructional League, it was announced recently. Sappelt led all Cincinnati Red minor leaguers with 47 stolen bases in 2009. He hit .283 with 24 doubles, 10 triples, seven home runs and 46 RBI between Dayton and Sarasota, the Low-A and High-A affiliates of the Reds. Sappelt was a 2008 All-Atlantic Region Second Team selection and was named to both the All-Conway Regional and All-Big South Tournament teams his junior season. |
