CONWAY - The Black squad took both games of Saturday's doubleheader to win the 2011 Chanticleer World Series. Bryce Dial recorded four RBI and a homerun to lead the Black clad Chanticleers to an 8-5 win in game one and Alex Buccilli knocked in three runs in the squad's 9-4 victory in game two.

Bronze lit up the scoreboard at Watson Stadium/Vrooman Field first in the top of the opening inning of game one. Luke Willis drew a leadoff walk, was sacrificed to second and stole third before being driven home on a Jacob May fly ball to right field.

The Black squad would respond in the home half of the inning with two runs of their own to take a 2-1 lead. Rich Witten and Dial reached base with two down to set up a Daniel Bownman two RBI double to the center field wall.

Black added two more runs in the third as Dial belted a home run over the center field wall on the first pitch of his at bat. Witten, who had reached base on a sharply hit single, scored on Dial's round-tripper.

In the top of the fourth, sophomore catcher Will Rimillard brought the Bronze team within a run as he blasted a two-run homer of his own.

The Black squad took advantage of Patrick Corbett's pitching mistakes in the fifth inning to score four additional runs. Creel led off the inning with a solo home run to left field. Ted Blackman drew a walk and advanced to third on a Tucker Frawley single to the left side. Witten then reached base on an error to set up a bases loaded situation for Dial. Dial responded with his third and fourth RBI of the game as he lined a double into left field. Bowman would plate Witten on a single to right field to bring the score to 8-3.

Willis and Remillard each picked up an RBI in the sixth and seventh inning respectively to account for the final 8-5 score.

Ben Smith started the game for the Black team and allowed three runs on three hits while striking out three in his 3.1 innings of work. John Rossi and Ryan Connolly each allowed a run in their relief appearances.

Tyler Herb pitched four innings for Bronze allowing four runs while fanning two. Corbett relieved Herb and gave up four runs on four hits with three strikeouts.

Game two started similar to game one with the Bronze team taking a one run lead in the top of the first as John Fidanza ripped a single up the middle to score Willis who had reached base on a walk. Black rebounded with two runs of their own in the bottom of the inning, scoring two runs on RBI by Bowman and Alex Buccilli.

Black added two more runs in the bottom of the second as a Tripp Martin single to right was followed by a Blackman RBI double to left field. Blackman scored three pitches later on a passed ball. An inning later, Witten picked up an RBI as he doubled down the left field line to score Frawley who had reached base on a free pass.

Bronze scored a run in the top of the fifth to cut into the Black lead. Jacob May led off the inning with a walk and advanced to third on a well executed hit and run. Javier Reynonso plated May with a ground ball up the middle.

After a Bowman double to lead off the home half of the fifth inning, Buccilli made the most of a missed pitch location and sent the ball flying over the wall in left-center. The RBI were Buccilli's second and third of the game. Black tacked on two additional runs in the sixth inning as Blackman and Frawley scored on RBI by Dial and Bowman, respectively.

The Bronze team scored three runs in the top of the seventh; however, Chris Harrison got Adam Eggnatz to pop out to first for the final out of the game to secure the 9-5 win.
