Alex Buccilli Recognized for Outstanding Summer Play

CONWAY - Coastal Carolina senior Alex Buccilli rode the wave of an impressive spring to be recognized by PerfectGame.org as one of the top performers of the 2012 Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League.

Buccilli, playing for the Alexandria Aces, posted a .344 batting average with 10 doubles, seven home runs and 30 RBI. He also drew 39 walks, versus 16 strikeouts, and stole 14 bases. He was selected to play in the mid-season All-Star game.

Buccilli was named second team All-Big South after batting .313 with 43 RBI. Thanks to 35 walks with just 15 strikeouts last season, he ended with a .426 on-base percentage was a perfect 10-of-1o in the stolen base department.
