CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina baseball program put a league-best 20 student-athletes and two coaches on the Big South Conference's All-Decade Teams. Part of the league's 30th anniversary celebration, the all-decade teams were determined by conference administrators and fan voting.

Including five-time Big South Coach of the Year Gary Gilmore, 11 Chanticleers were named to the 21-man All-Decade team for the 2000's (2000-09). Under Gilmore's guidance, Coastal appeared in eight NCAA Regionals over the 10-year span, including one NCAA Super Regional berth, and won seven conference tournament titles along with five regular-season titles. Coastal posted a 432-190 (.695) overall mark during the decade, while going 162-58 (.736) in league play.

Highlighting the All-Decade Team from the 2000's is the Big South's only two-time Player of the Year, Mike Costanzo. Overall, Coastal had six of the league's 10 Big South Players of the Year for the decade - Costanzo (2004, 2005), Justin Owens (2002), David Sappelt (2007), Dock Doyle (2008) and David Anderson (2009) - while Bobby Gagg was named the league's inaugural Big South Pitcher of the Year in 2007. Costanzo, a 2005 first team All-American, and Anderson were two of four conference players in league history to earn All-Big South honors four times. Coastal's representation on the All-Decade Team of the 2000's also includes Steven Carter (3-time All-Big South and 2-time Tournament MVP); Ryan McGraw (All-American and 2-time All-Big South); Tyler Bortnick (2-time All-Big South and Tournament MVP) and Adam Keim (2-time All-Big South and Tournament MVP).

Coastal landed six - five players and one coach - on the league's 1980's team (1986-89). Head coach John Vrooman, a 2004 Big South Hall of Fame inductee, led Coastal to a 95-48 record over the span, including an impressive 37-9 league mark. Terry Spires, who was named the Big South's first Player of the Year in 1986, was additionally a two-tim All-Big South selection and 1986 Big South Tournament MVP. He was joined by his brother, Tony, as well as Bobby Hargett, Matt Logue and Gregg Streett. Although he only played one season in the Big South, Coastal's most successful Major League Baseball player, Kirt Manwaring (1984-86), made the All-Decade team after earning All-Big South honors in 1986.

The All-Decade Team from the 1990's (1990-99) is highlighted by Luis Lopez, Coastal's lone baseball student-athlete to be voted into the Big South Hall of Fame to date. All-American Ron Deubel, 3-time All-Big South pick Brooks Marzka and 1990 Big South Player of the Year Mark Romer also made the team from the `90's.
