Baseball's Peacher Named to the Big South All-Tournament Team

Coastal Carolina University junior baseball player Brant Peacher (Milton, Fla./Florida State) was selected to the 2006 Bojangle’s Big South All-Tournament Team, it was announced May 26 after the championship game in Conway, S.C.   Peacher, who was the All-Tournament Team's designated hitter, hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning in helping the Chanticleers to a 6-1 win over UNC Asheville May 25.  It was Peacher’s fifth home run of the season.  The junior ended the season with a .291 batting average, a team-leading 13 doubles and a .456 slugging percentage.   Sixth-seeded UNC Asheville defeated fifth-seeded Liberty 16-11 to win the Big South Tournament.  The Bulldogs’ Rob Vernon was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.   Coastal ends its season with a 30-27 record and a third-place finish in the Big South regular season.
