CONWAY - Coastal Carolina centerfielder Jacob May was named the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Baseball Player of the Week for his performances in the Chanticleers winning a weekend series at #23 Georgia Tech this past weekend.

May batted .455 (5-for-11) in the three games with three RBI and an impressive .818 slugging percentage. His biggest game of the series came in game three on May 5 as he robbed Georgia Tech's Daniel Palka of a two-run homer as he found the wall, leaped and brought the ball back in the bottom of the first to preserve a 1-0 CCU lead. In the second inning, the junior belted a two-run home run to give Coastal Carolina the momentum. He finished game three with a pair of hits and three RBI. He also two hits in game one of the series, including a double.

May, who was named Big South Player of the Week on Mar. 11 earlier this season, is currently riding a career-high 14-game hitting streak. He leads the team with a .320 batting average, 55 hits, 11 doubles, two triples, 11 stolen bases, .494 slugging percentage and 12 sacrifice bunts while he is tied for the team lead with five home runs. May has a hit in 37 of 46 games played this season, including a team-best 15 multi-hit games, and has a hit in 80 of his 99 games played over the last two seasons.

Coastal Carolina will return to action this weekend, hosting Big South foe UNC Asheville in a three-game series. Due the Myrtle Beach Pelicans also hosting a home series this weekend, Coastal's game times are different from its usual times, playing at Noon on Friday, Noon on Saturday and 10 am on Sunday.

The UNCA series will start Coastal's final home stand of 2013, also hosting regional rival UNC Wilmington on May 14 (Tuesday) at 6 pm.

For the Chants' final home stand, the Department of Athletics will have a "Final Four" promotion.All youth 18 and under will admitted for free for the UNC Asheville series (May 10 at Noon, May 11 at Noon and May 12 at 10 am) and CCU's contest versus UNC Wilmington (May 14 at 6 pm). Also, the cost for adults for the each game of the UNCA series will be $5 and $7 for the game versus the rival Seahawks.

Sunday, May 12 at 10 am vs UNCA - We Win, You Win - if Chants win, all fans will be going home with a free coupon to Bojangles

Tuesday, May 14 at 6 pm vs UNCW - Free cell phone charging accessory to first 100 fans
