CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina baseball team will put its six-game win streak on the line, hosting Albany in a weekend series. However, due to the threat of inclement weather, the schedule has been changed.
The Chants will now host the Great Danes in a doubleheader Friday with first pitch set for 4 pm. Coastal Carolina season ticket holders will be able to attend both games of the doubleheader with their Friday game ticket. Single game purchasers will be able to attend both games Friday with one ticket. The ticket office at Watson Stadium will open at 2 pm Friday.
On Saturday, rain is in the forecast. However, weather permitting, the teams will play a single game. The regularly-scheduled time was set for 6 pm, but a decision on a potential start time will not be made until Friday evening at the earliest. Please continue to check www.GoCCUSports.com as any changes will be posted as soon as decisions are made. If the game is played Saturday, season ticket holders should use their Saturday game ticket for admission. Single game tickets will be available at the gate.
Sunday's game is still scheduled to begin at 2 pm. Approximately 15 minutes prior to the first pitch, Coastal Carolina will honor its 2011 team by presenting their Big South championship rings. The Chants have won each of the last five regular season and tournament titles, setting a league record in the process.
Coastal Carolina and Albany have meet on five previous occasions with the Chanticleers winning all five.
