CONWAY - Coastal Carolina senior Daniel Bowman was named the Big South Choice Hotels Player of the Week.
Bowman batted .538 (14-26) in six games last week, recorded multiple hits in all six contests and tallied an RBI in five of the six outings. He scored seven times, had six RBI and hit for the cycle over the week with a double, triple and home run. He also walked three times, stole two bases, put down a sacrifice bunt and hit a sacrifice fly to help the Chanticleers win four games. Bowman was 3-4 with a double, home run and 2 RBI vs. Toledo on March 9, and was 3-5 vs. Marist on March 10. He accounted for three of Coastal's four runs in the 4-1 win over Ohio State on Saturday. Bowman finished the week with a .581 on-base percentage, a .769 slugging percentage and was perfect on his 13 fielding chances.
Bowman has a nine-game hit streak going and has reached base safely (by hit/walk/hit by pitch) in 11 straight games. Bowman now has his career batting average over .300 (.301) due to his performance this past week. He is batting .392 for the season.

This marks the second time Bowman has been Big South Player of the Week in his career, matching the honor last season. This marks the second time a Chanticleer baseball has been honored this season as Ryan Connolly was named the Big South Pitcher of the Week.
Coastal Carolina continues its 22-game home stand this Wednesday, hosting the College of Charleston at 4 pm.
