CONWAY - Coastal Carolina Department of Athletics and WBTW News 13, the CBS affiliate for the Myrtle Beach/Florence region, announced Tuesday a partnership for a weekly television show - "Inside the Clubhouse," showcasing one of the nation's top collegiate baseball programs and Chanticleer head coach Gary Gilmore.
There will be 12 installments of "Inside the Clubhouse" and the 30-minute show will air on consecutive Sunday nights starting March 6. "Inside the Clubhouse" will begin at 11:30 pm, flowing seamlessly from News 13 at 11. There will be additional shows following the Chanticleers in the postseason as they hope to make another run at the NCAA College World Series. The shows will also be available online at www.GoCCUSports.com and www.SCnow.com.
In addition to the Sunday-night broadcasts, "Inside the Clubhouse" will be re-broadcast on CSS (Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast) on Wednesdays, starting March 9 (time TBD).
"Inside the Clubhouse" will be hosted by Coach Gilmore and Matt Hogue, "the Voice of the Chanticleers." In addition, News 13's sports director Jeff Zell and Conan Gasque will contribute to the weekly shows.
The show will be unique in format, using an all-access narrative approach, and will showcase baseball from a different aspect than typical coaches' shows. While there will be some highlights of Coastal Carolina baseball games incorporated into the show, the format will hopefully give the viewer an inside look at the Chanticleer baseball program and what it is like being a coach and student-athlete with one of the nation's best baseball programs. The show will present coach and student-athlete interviews along with feature stories, instructional segments, interviews that catch up with former Chanticleers and the daily experiences of being a Chanticleer.
Coastal Carolina is coming off a record-setting season in 2010. The Chants won an NCAA-best 55 games last season - also a school and Big South Conference record for wins in a season. They had the nation's best winning percentage of .846 (going 55-10); the nation's second-best RPI; the #4 overall national seed to the NCAA Championships; hosted and won the Myrtle Beach Regional; hosted the Myrtle Beach Super Regional and won their fourth-straight Big South regular-season and tournaments championships - sweeping all conference opponents in 2010 without a loss.
National Player of the Year candidate and two-time All-American pitcher Anthony Meo returns to this year's team as well as All-American candidates Tommy La Stella, Daniel Bowman, Scott Woodward and Taylor Motter. The Chanticleers will also benefit from the return of several key pitchers, including first team All-Big South pick Matt Rein and 2010 Freshman All-American Ryan Connolly.

Hunter Yurachek, Coastal Carolina Director of Athletics
"Our baseball program has continued to soar to new heights and that this show will help Coach Gilmore, his staff and our baseball program take another step. We are competing with the likes of Clemson, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and North Carolina on an annual basis on recruiting wars and this show will put a new spotlight on our baseball program both locally and regionally as well as give us a recruiting advantage to compete with those other programs. "
Jeff Zell, Sports Director at WBTW News 13
"We are really excited to have his partnership with Coastal Carolina. This will give us a good opportunity to showcase Coastal Carolina Athletics. It will be great to have this show with such a great team this year. We are looking forward to showcasing this program throughout the season. Hopefully we can take this show to Omaha for the College World Series and do a couple of shows out there."
Gary Gilmore, Coastal Carolina University Head Baseball Coach
"First I would like to thank WBTW for reaching out and taking this chance on our baseball program. We will hopefully put another great product out there on the field as well as putting great video content together. I think it is going be an outstanding show and I am looking really forward to it."
