MYRTLE BEACH - Joe Ciamacco went 3-for-3 and scored twice, including once in the ninth inning, to give Ohio State (9-5) a 3-2 victory over Coastal Carolina (7-9) in the final game of the Coastal Carolina Invitational Monday afternoon at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark.

Ohio State drew first blood, scoring once in the third. Brad Hallberg was hit by a pitch to start in the inning and Ciamacco followed with a walk. For the third consecutive inning, Coastal looked to end the top half with a double play, but Tim Wetzel ultimately reached on a fielder's choice, putting runners on the corners. Ryan Cypret followed with an RBI single to center to drive in Hallberg.

Coastal tied the game in the fourth. Jake Kane had a leadoff single, moved to second on a ground out and scored on Colin Hering's RBI single to center.

The Buckeyes responded with a run in fifth. Ciamacco singled, advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt and took third on a ground out. Patrick Porter delivered a two-out, RBI single for a2-1 OSU lead.

The Chanticleers tied the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the eighth. Ted Blackman was hit by a pitch. He moved up 90 feet on a wild pitch. On a Jacob May ground out, Blackman broke for third. After May was retired at first, the Buckeyes tried to throw out Blackman at third, but the throw was errant, allowing Blackman to score.

Ohio State once again answered Coastal's tally. Ciamacco reached on a one-out single and stole second. On a ground ball back to the pitcher, Aaron Burke (1-1) threw to third but Ciamacco was safe. The Chants turned to Brock Hunter, who got a ground ball, but it was not hit hard enough to turn an inning-ending double play, allowing Ciamacco to score the winning run.

Ryan Riga (1-0) got the win in relief. He pitched three innings, allowing one hit and one unearned run with a strikeout. Trace Dempsey picked up his fourth save of the season. He allowed one hit, but got a double play to end the game in his lone inning pitched.

CCU starter Alex Cunningham pitched 4.2 innings and allowed five hits, two runs and four walks with three strikeouts. Austin Kerr was impressive in relief. The sophomore pitched 2.2 scoreless innings and allowed two hits with five strikeouts. Burke allowed one hit and one run in 0.1 innings.

Coastal Carolina will hit the road for just the second time this season on Wednesday, playing at UNC Wilmington at 4 pm.
