2010 (So.): Played in 39 games, starting 15 - including the last month as the first baseman ... Batted .321 overall and .339 as a starter Big South All-Tournament as he was a key figure in the team's championship, going 6-for-8 (.750) with five extra base hits and six RBI in the final two games against High Point and Liberty ... Witten was a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles in the win over High Point ... In the championship game against Liberty, Witten was 2-for-3 with a three-run home run in the 8-2 win ... Stepped up big for the second straight weekend at the Myrtle Beach Regional to earn All-Tournament honors ... Hit a grand slam in the sixth and scored the winning run after doubling to open the 10th inning in the 11-10 win over the College of Charleston (June 7) in the Regional Championship ... Also in that CofC final, made an impressive stretch at first to record an out on what could have been the game-winning run ... Hit .278 with a double, a home run and six RBI in the regional ... Over his last nine games played - eight as a starter - batted 13-for-34 (.382), starting with that 4-for-4, three RBI performance versus High Point in the Big South Tournament ... Went 3-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, a home run and three runs scored in a win over Toledo.
2009 (RFr.): Played in 28 games for the Chanticleers with seven starts in 2009 ... Hit .292 with six doubles, a home run and 12 RBI ... Had a .479 slugging percentage ... Blasted a home run and drove in two in the win over Radford (April 11) ... Had a three-run double in the win over VMI (May 9) ... Went 2-for-3 with four runs scored and two doubles against Stony Brook (March 8).
2008 (Fr.): Earned a medical redshirt and retained his year of eligibility ... Appeared in 11 games with seven starts prior to the injury ... Hit .250 with a home run and seven RBI ... Was 2-for-4 with three RBI at North Carolina (March 11) ... Hit his first collegiate home run and had three RBI at Clemson (March 18) ... Also made four appearances on the mound, striking out three and allowing seven earned runs in 9.2 innings ... Pitched five innings against Virginia Tech (Feb. 25), allowing three earned runs and striking out a batter ... Did not allow a run in relief appearances against Toledo and Ball State.
Prior to Coastal Carolina: Hit .535 with 41 RBI and 24 stolen bases ... Was 10-1 with a 0.59 earned-run average and 108 strikeouts in 70 innings ... His 25 home runs during the junior season were the second-most in a single year in Kentucky history ... Finished just two home runs shy of the career home run record ... Was a Preseason All-America pick by Louisville Slugger and ended his career with a .503 batting average, 235 RBI and 403 strikeouts on the mound .... Also played football for Danville and was an All-State quarterback his junior and senior seasons for the Admirals ... Was named the Advocate-Messenger Player of the Year in 2006 and helped the Admirals to the state championship game his senior season in football ... Was a member of the National Honor Society at Danville.
