CONWAY - For the second time in two meets this season, Coastal Carolina freshman Annie Bothma was named the Sun Belt Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Bothma had a runner-up finish out of 126 participants at the Panorama Farms Invitational, an event that featured three nationally ranked schools.

Bothma's time of 17:04.6 was just behind the overall winner Regan Rome of William & Mary, a 2015 All-American that completed the course in 17:01.1. Bothma was in sixth place with one kilometer to go before she kicked her way into the lead. However, Rome edged Bothma down the stretch for the win.

Bothma led Coastal to a sixth place team finish out of 13, notably region rivals Clemson and Appalachian State.

With the success at last week's nationally-competitive event, Coastal Carolina moved up one spot to seventh in the NCAA Southeast Region poll.

The cross country teams will return to action Oct. 7 at the Royals XC Challenge in Charlotte, N.C., at McAlpine Greenway Park.
