The Chanticleers Compete at the 49er Classic

Charlotte, N.C. - The Coastal Carolina men’s and women’s track and field teams competed in their third meet Friday, the 49er Classic.

WOMEN In the running events, Anacia Hines was the eighth fastest qualifier in the 100m hurdles and will run in the finals on Saturday.

Carina Frey will compete in the finals of the 100m dash while qualifying as the sixth fastest.

Hesmarie Coetzee, the third fastest qualifier, in the 400m hurdles will run in the finals.

In the field events, Samantha Layko finished fourth in the hammer throw with 51.82m (170 feet).

Kelsey Briggs, in the long jump, placed sixth with 5.74m (18’ 10”).

The pole vault saw Emma Kroger place second with 3.65m (11’ 11.75”) and Elizabeth Allard’s height of 3.50m (11’ 5.75”) was enough for sixth.

MEN In the running events, the 110m hurdles had a trio of Chants qualify for the finals, Dee Jennings (14.38) first, Keishaun Limehouse (14.48) second, and Kevondre Hunt (14.54) fourth.

Braylon Wilkerson, 48.51, qualified fourth in the 400m.

In the 400m hurdles another trio of Chanticleers qualified, Tre Stanley (53.02) second, Jerome Coaxum Jr. (53.93) fifth, and Jennings (54.26) sixth.

Therius Styles was the third fastest qualifier in the 200m dash at 21.38.

Marquez Moore (7.25m, 23’ 9.5”) finished fourth in the long jump, followed by Deandre Baker (6.96m, 22’ 10”) in eighth.

Kieran Moore placed seventh with 48.78m, 160 feet in the hammer throw.

Coastal Carolina will conclude the 49er Classic on Saturday, March 17.
