Women's Indoor Track and Field Competes at Camel City Invitational: Day 1
Camel City Invitational Day 1 Results
Winston Salem, N.C. - The Coastal Carolina women's indoor track and field team competed in the JDL Fast Track Camel City Invitational Friday evening along with a dozen other universities and a few unattached athletes.
In the women's 400 meter run, Tiffany Harris collected the only top 10 finish of the day clocking in at 58.42. Harris finished 10th out of 51 other athletes.
Four Chanticleers ran in the 60 meter dash with Carina Frey pacing the group for the third week in a row. Frey crossed the line with a time of 7.77. Anacia Hines finished with a time of 7.87 -- improving on her last time out. Karissa Lunn (7.89) and Jonnay Anthony (7.96) also competed for Coastal.
In the 800 meter, Alyssa LeClaire and Imani Boatwright finished in the top 20 out of 66 athletes. LeClaire crossed the finish line with a time of 2:16.46 while Boatwright followed closely behind at 2:19.62.
Hines also finished amongst the top 20 in the women's 60 meter hurdles clocking in at 9.22.
In the field, Samantha Layko finished 11th overall in the women's weight throw improving on her last time out. Lakyo had her best throw of the night at 14.75m (48' 4.75).
Coastal will close out the Camel City Invitational tomorrow (Saturday, Feb. 4) starting with the women's 200 meter run at 9:30 a.m.
