Coastal Carolina Travels to Camel City

Winston-Salem, N.C. - The Coastal Carolina women's indoor track and field team traveled to Winston Salem, Friday to compete in the 2018 Camel City Invitational.

Kelsey Briggs placed second in the long jump with her leap of 5.60m (18' 4.5"), securing the top finish of the day for the Chanticleers.

Alexis Ross placed 27th in the weight throw with her toss of 13.62m (44' 8.25").

In the one mile run Alyssa LeClaire placed seventh with her time of 5:08.56, followed by Kayla Tracy placing 22nd with 5:30.34. Giovanna Leone ran 5:44.96 to place 37th and Daisy Hooper placed 45th with 6:06.94.

Hesmari Coetzee, running in her first race of the season, finished seventh in the 400m with a time of 57.07.

In the 60m preliminaries, Anacia Hines just missed the finals placing ninth with her time of 7.71, Carina Frey followed in 23rd with 7.90 and Jonnay Anthony was 38th with 8.10.

The Chanticleers will close out the Camel City Invitational, Saturday, February 3.
