Keydet Friday Results Get Acrobat Reader

Lexington, Va. - The Coastal Carolina women's indoor track and field team competed in the Keydet Invitational, in Lexington on Friday.

Samantha Layko placed ninth in the weight throw with a personal best distance of 15.79m (51' 9.75") to help lead the way for the Chants. Fellow thrower, Alexis Ross threw her season-best distance 12.84m (42' 1.5") to place 19th.

Joya Blackwell, competing in her second meet, cleared 1.60m (5' 3") in the high jump to finish in 11th.

Carina Frey ran a 7.87 and Karissa Lunn a 7.89 to qualify for the semi-finals in the 60-meter dash. Both Frey and Lunn were unable to advance to the finals on Saturday with times of 7.81 and 7.98 respectively.

In the 60m hurdles, Anacia Hines and Erica Evans advanced to the semi-finals with times of 9.04 and 9.35. Both improved their times in semi-final heats, Hines just missed the finals with a time of 8.94, while Evans ran a 9.24.
