Evan Niciphor of the Coastal Carolina men's cross country team has been named the Big South Choice Hotels Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, as announced today by the League.

Niciphor, a sophomore from Midlothia, Va., crossed the line in 15:31 to claim second overall at the 5K Coastal Carolina Cross Country Invitational last Saturday. Niciphor's time led the Chants to win the team title at the meet.

Jenna Moye of VMI was named the Big South Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Receiving Honorable Mention among the women was Coastal Carolina's Emily Marchini who took the individual title in the CCU Invitational with a time of 18:15.

Niciphor, Marchini and the Chanticleers return to action Sept. 15 as they travel to Rock Hill, S.C. for the Big South Preview/Winthrop Invitational. The men's 8K will begin at 9 a.m. followed by the women's 5K at 9:45 a.m.
