CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Coastal Carolina outdoor track & field program placed 27 members on the Big South Conference's All-Decade Teams. Part of the Big South's 30th anniversary celebration, the all-decade teams were determined by conference administrators and fan voting.

Chanticleers Catherine Conder, Angela Murphy, Lauri Occhipinti, Jolene Williams, April Cook, Finbarr Egan, Karl Wash and Tyler McCart were voted to the 1990's All-Decade Team. Ebony Brown, Ikeiylah Brown, Diana Jepchirchir, Lindsey Kozlowski, Anne Marie Moutsinga, Chasity Johnson, Courtney Samuel, Claire Young, Amber Campbell, Brittany Connor, Annette Purdy, Brittany Reid, Kendall White, Terah Kipchiris, Mark Johnson, Taylor McFadden, Thomas Jordan, Nick Kenworthy and head coach Alan Connie represented Coastal on the 2000's All-Decade Team.

Leading the way for the women on the 1990’s team is a pair of Big South Hall of Fame members, Catherine Conder and Jolene Williams. Conder was a two-time champion and three-time all-conference selection while running the 1500m and 3000m. Williams was a 1998 Outdoor All-American after placing seventh in the 3000m. Williams was also a two-time Big South Outdoor Track Scholar Athlete of the Year and two-time Big South champion in the 1500m.

On the men’s side, Tyler McCart led the way for the 1990’s team. McCart was a five-time champion and six-time all-conference member. He won the hammer throw in 1998, 1999 and 2000, while taking home the shot put title in 1998 and 1999.

For the 2000’s squad, Olympian Amber Campbell and head coach Alan Connie highlighted the CCU women’s representation on the team. Campbell was a two-time All-American, nine-time Big South champion and 11-time all-conference selection while at Coastal. Following her CCU career, she has participated in a pair of Olympics in the hammer throw, while traveling all over the world representing team USA.  Connie won five championships from 2000-09 including the 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2009 championships. He was named Big South Coach of the Year six times during that span as well.

A pair of All-Americans highlighted the CCU men’s squad on the 2000’s team. Mark Johnson, a four-time champion and four-time all-conference selection in the pole vault, was named an All-American in 2005 and won the NCAA East Regional in 2004. Thomas Jordan was also a four-time champion and four-time all-conference selection while at CCU, while also being named an All-American in the javelin. Jordan finished seventh at the 2006 NCAA Championships to earn his All-American honor.
