Keitt Sets Personal Best at Virginia Challenge

CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina track & field team sent two competitors to the Virginia Challenge and two to the Georgia Invitational. Joseph Keitt set a personal best and team season best in the 3000m steeplechase at the Virginia Challenge with a third place finish.

Keitt ran the course in 9:08.70. Letitia Saayman represented the women’s team at the Virginia Challenge with an 11th place finish in the 10,000m which featured both men and women.

Krissy Sansbury was the lone Chanticleer to compete in two events Saturday. She finished eighth in the shot put at the Georgia Invitational with a distance of 13.08m (42-11.00). She also finished 10th in the hammer throw with a toss of 48.96m (160-07).

The final Chanticleer in action was Ryan Minor who finished 12th in the hammer throw at the Georgia Invitational. He had a distance of 52.18m (171-02).

The remainder of the Chanticleer track & field program will be in action tomorrow at the Aggie Classic hosted by N.C. A&T.
