PHILADELPHIA - For the second-straight season the Coastal Carolina women's track & field team advanced both the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays to College Finals at the historic Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa. A pair of personal bests in the women's and men's 3000m steeplechase also highlighted the day.

The 4x100m relay team of Ruby Durham, Kelila Naules, Teka Simpson and Symphony Thompson finished 17th in qualifying with a time of 46.27. The Chanticleers finished one spot ahead of in-state rival Clemson. The four will compete on Friday in the College Final.

The 4x400m relay team of Jessica Gelibert, Camille Hurley, Leah Fair and Teka Simpson finished 11th in qualifying and will be the number one seed in the College Final on Saturday with a time of 3:43.10. Coastal will face LSU and South Carolina in the final.

Senior Shelby Nicosia posted a personal best in the 3000m steeplechase. She finished eighth with a time of 10:34.76. Junior Joseph Keitt was the lone Chanticleer male competitor on Thursday. He posted a personal best time of 9:12.06 in the 3000m steeplechase. The time was good enough for 18th overall.

Gelibert finished fourth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 57.97. She defeated members of almost all the major BCS conferences including runners from Kentucky, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Auburn and Mississippi State.

The women's distance medley relay team consisting of Emily Marchini, Kaila Smith, Imani Boatwright and Letitia Saayman finished sixth with a time of 11:49.55.

The final Chanticleer competitor was Krissy Sansbury who finished seventh in the shot put. She posted a season-best distance of 13.78m (45-2.50).

The Chanticleers will be back in action tomorrow at the historic Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa.
