Eight Chants Compete on Opening Day of the Tiger Track Classic

AUBURN, Ala. - The Coastal Carolina men's and women's track and field teams opened up competition at the Tiger Track Classic hosted by Auburn University Friday evening. Junior Chris Tillotson picked up a first-place finish in the men's javelin open with a season-best toss of 54.61 meters (179-02). Freshman Jordan Entwistle placed eighth in the men's javelin invite while posting a personal best throw of 61.24 meters (200-11).
Junior Jackson Corcoran led the CCU javelin throwers as he placed sixth in the men's javelin invite with a toss of 61.92 meters (203-02) which ranks as the second-best effort of the season for the Chants.
Sophomore Tiffani Kuhn led the women's side with an eighth-place finish in the women's javelin invite with a throw of 37.11 meters (121-09) which ranks second-best for CCU this season. Junior JaDarrell Barnette finished fifth in the men's triple jump with a distance of 14.74 meters (48-04.50) while junior Cameron Griggs picked up a fifth-place finish in the men's hammer open with a throw of 50.16 meters (164-07).
Freshmen Amirah Al-Bayyinah and Kelila Naules each posted their second-best performances of the season in the women's triple jump. Al-Bayyinah placed 10th with a jump of 11.94 meters (39-02.25) while Naules finished 19th with a leap of 11.46 meters (37-07.25)
The Chants will return to action tomorrow, April 6 as the rest of the squad competes in the Tiger Track Classic.
