Coastal Carolina Student-Athletes Continue to Enjoy Classroom Success

Of the 453 Coastal Carolina student-athletes, 256 posted a GPA of 3.0 or better for the fall 2012 semester

2012 Cross Country: Named Big South Conference Runner of the Week on Sept. 4 after taking second place in the 5K race at the Coastal Carolina Invitational with a personal-best time of 15:31.22 ... Coastal's top finisher in the 8K races at the Blue Ridge Mountain Open and Charlotte Invitational ... Notched a personal-best 8K time of 25:23.36 at Charlotte ... Finished 18^th at the Big South Championship ... Was Coastal's top finisher and 55th overall at the NCAA Southeast Regional 10k in a personal-best time of 31:29.63.

2012 Track & Field: Ran in the 3,000 meters just once, at the Chanticleer Classic and was runner-up with a time of 8:59.23 ... Finished sixth in the 5,000 meters at the Duke Twilight in a season-best time of 15:11.53 ... Placed seventh in the 5,000 meters at the Duke Invitational ... Competed in the 10,000 meters at the Big South Championships and placed 11^th with a time of 32:04.71 ... Recorded a time of 4:10.68 in the 1,500 meters at the North Florida Invitational, his lone meet in the event ... Named to 2011-12 Big South Presidential Honor Roll.

2011 Cross Country: Coastal Carolina's top finisher in the final five meets of the season ... Started his freshman campaign with a second-place finish with a time of 15:49.63 at the 5k Gamecock Open to help the Chanticleers capture the meet title ... Finished ninth at the 8k Coastal Carolina Invitational/Big South Preview with a time of 25:47 ... Led the Chants at the Paul Short Run with an 8k time of 27:44 ... Placed 57th at the Blue Ridge Mountain Open, crossing the finish line in 26:25.1 ... Posted an 8k personal-best with a 25:26 at the 2012 Big South Championship ...
