For the ninth consecutive season, "ESPN Radio, The Team" - 93.9 FM in Myrtle Beach - will serve as the flagship station of the Chanticleer Sports Network. Owned and operated by Cumulus Broadcasting - Myrtle Beach, "The Team" features the Grand Strand's only sports radio format and provides a strong signal that stretches down the coast from Brunswick County, North Carolina to the Charleston metro. Joining "The Team" will be WJMX (970 AM in Florence/Pee Dee); WJMX (97.9 FM in Florence/Peee Dee/Sandhills); WANS (1280 AM in Anderson, S.C.) and WRIX (103.1 FM in Anderson, S.C.). In addition to gameday broadcasts, Chanticleer fans also have the chance to interact with Coastal Carolina Head Men's Basketball Coach Cliff Ellis by tuning into "Chanticleer Call-In" on selected Tuesday nights during the basketball season. Entering his 15th year as "Voice of the Chanticleers," Matt Hogue manages, produces and coordinates the Chanticleer Sports Network. His colorful, exciting calls have become synonymous with Chanticleer Athletics. A 21-year broadcast veteran, Hogue has built a diverse play-by-play resume that includes stints with USC's Gamecock Radio Network, Minor League Baseball, and appearances on regional TV including Fox Sports Net, SportSouth, and ESPN properties. He also serves as the broadcast voice of the Big South Conference's basketball TV package. In addition to Hogue's broadcast duties, his serves as the University's Associate Vice President for Marketing. Grand Strand broadcast veteran Layne Harris returns for his eighth season as game analyst on the network. For over two decades, Harris has called the action for numerous local teams and events including Conway High football, the prestigious Beach Ball Classic basketball tournament and Chanticleer basketball. Harris has been active away from the microphone as well, where his production talents have been featured on many Grand Strand projects. He also served as a producer on the original Charlotte Hornets television network. Another member of the original football broadcast team, Joe Cashion returns for his eighth season as sideline reporter. Cashion boasts of a long career in sports broadcasting highlighted by work in his native Camden, S.C., where he has called play-by-play for several local sports including high school football. Cashion has called the action of several state playoff and championship games and also handled sideline duties for SC-ETV's Weekend of Champions high school football coverage.
