Coastal Carolina University's Chanticleer Sports Network produces and distributes over 100 broadcasts each athletic year as an in-house division of Chanticleer Athletics and is set to again deliver the exciting play-by-play account of Chanticleer Football.

For the seventh consecutive season, "ESPN Radio, The Team" - 93.9 FM, 93.7 FM, and 1050 AM -will serve as the flagship station of the Chanticleer Sports Network. Owned and operated by Cumulus Broadcasting - Myrtle Beach, "The Team" features the Grand Strand's only sports radio format and provides a strong signal that stretches down the coast from Brunswick County, North Carolina to the Charleston metro. Joining "The Team" are several network affiliates spanning South Carolina and parts of North Carolina and Georgia.

In addition to gameday broadcasts, Chanticleer fans also have the chance to interact with Coastal Carolina Head Coach David Bennett by tuning into "Chanticleer Call-In" each Thursday night during the football season.

Entering his 13th year as "Voice of the Chanticleers," Matt Hogue manages, produces and coordinates the Chanticleer Sports Network. His colorful, exciting calls have become synonymous with Chanticleer Athletics. A 21-year broadcast veteran, Hogue has built a diverse play-by-play resume that includes stints with USC's Gamecock Radio Network, Minor League Baseball, and appearances on regional TV including Fox Sports Net, SportSouth, and ESPN properties. He also serves as the broadcast voice of the Big South Conference's basketball TV package. In addition to Hogue's broadcast duties, his serves as the University's Associate Vice President for Marketing.

Grand Strand broadcast veteran Layne Harris returns for his seventh season as game analyst on the network. For over two decades, Harris has called the action for numerous local teams and events including Conway High football, the prestigious Beach Ball Classic basketball tournament and Chanticleer basketball. Harris has been active away from the microphone as well, where his production talents have been featured on many Grand Strand projects. He also served as a producer on the original Charlotte Hornets television network.

Another member of the original football broadcast team, Joe Cashion returns for his seventh season as sideline reporter and host of the "Naturally Fresh Chanticleer Tailgate" pregame show.

Cashion boasts of a long career in sports broadcasting highlighted by work in his native Camden, S.C., where he has called play-by-play for several local sports including high school football. Cashion has called the action of several state playoff and championship games and also handled sideline duties for SC-ETV's Weekend of Champions high school football coverage. Cashion serves our nation each day as a full-time public affairs official with the South Carolina National Guard.

Also returning this season is David England who assumes the game-day engineering and production duties. A resident of Longs, South Carolina in northern Horry County, England has previously served the network as a spotter and statistician. England's resume includes the David England Show each Friday on WLSC-AM 1240 in Loris, S.C., and broadcast production work for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans' video streaming package.

"Chanticleer Call-In "
"Chanticleer Call-In" will air each Thursday night during the 2009 football season live from Logan's Roadhouse in Myrtle Beach. Chanticleer Head Coach David Bennett and other athletic guest will take phone calls and e-mail questions from 6-7 p.m. The show opens September 2, the night before Coastal Carolina's season-opening game at Kent State.

 

Chanticleer Internet Coverage
When away from the radio, Chanticleer fans can hear all Chanticleer Sports Network broadcasts anywhere in the world via the Internet. Every Chanticleer radio broadcast is simulcast live via GoCCUsports.com, with Coastal Carolina University Athletics partnering with CBS Sports Interactive and Stretch Internet on the latest in internet coverage.
