• Program Goals

The Coastal Carolina RISE Program is designed to:

  • Challenge our student-athletes in pursuing their personal, academic and professional goals.
  • Provide our student-athletes with opportunities to acquire and/or develop personal skills needed to deal with everyday pressures of life in athletics and address personal issues.
  • Mentor our student-athletes on how to utilize their transferable skills in a traditional work setting.
  • Assist our student-athletes in finding Internships and becoming accustomed to the requirements of the job market outside and inside of athletics.

• This Coastal Carolina RISE program strives to support our student-athlete development in four areas: Student-Athlete Development, Career Planning, Community Outreach, Life Skills & Mental Wellness.

Student-Athlete Development
→We help our student-athletes grow and learn on and off the field. We provide our student-athletes with the tools and resources to succeed in all facets of life.

Career Planning
→We will place a priority on preparing for life after collegiate sports. The program will assist students with the job search process and provide networking opportunities. The ultimate goal is to develop individuals who will have rewarding careers and productive lives after they graduate from college.

Community Outreach
→We pride ourselves in giving back to the Grand Strand area. Our student-athletes will be given opportunities to develop the foundation for a lifelong commitment to volunteering.

Life Skills & Mental Wellness
→We will provide our student-athletes with opportunities to focus on personal growth issues such as values, goal setting, and learning financial responsibility. We strive to develop healthy lifestyles.

"As you work towards your degree, you can't lose sight of your total well-being. We want to help our student-athletes grow on and off the field. In 4-5 years, we want our student-athletes graduate and become positive leaders so they go back into the world and make a difference."
