Brian Alewine was named to the position of Associate Director of Student-Athlete Support Services for Coastal Carolina University in 2017.
Prior to coming to Coastal, Brian served as an Academic Coordinator at Troy University. While at Troy, he oversaw the student-athletes of football, men's and women's track and men's golf helping student-athletes with course selection, time management, organization, study strategies, degree planning, NCAA progress towards degree, and academic eligibility. Alewine was an adjunct instructor for University Orientation, Introduction to Leadership, and Tools for Leadership.
Before stepping into the academic coordinator role, Alewine worked as a student services supervisor and student service coordinator. While in these roles he advised over 900 students on their academic career, processed Admission to Candidacy forms, program evaluations, substitution forms, and intent to graduate forms.
Before returning to Troy, he worked as a high school world history teacher and coach.
Alewine, a native of Florida, moved to Troy in 1987 where he attended Goshen High School and graduated in 1996. He received his bachelor's degree from Troy University in 2007 and earned a Masters of Science from Troy University in 2010.
He served as a volunteer football coach at Goshen High School. He is married and has a ten-year-old and two-year-old sons.
