Women's Basketball's junior Sydnei Moss has been named the Coastal Carolina Athletic Department Athlete of the Week for Dec. 7.
Moss was a consistent force in both wins this week over College of Charleston 57-53 and Savannah State 49-35 by averaging 15.5 points and 7.5 boards. Moss scored a crucial jumper with 10 seconds left in the game, putting the game away from the College of Charleston. She was second on the team in scoring against the Cougars with 14 points, collecting five rebounds and two steals. Moss also went 5-for-6 from the line and 2-for-2 in the final minute of the game.
Against Savannah State, the North Augusta, S.C. native got her first double-double of the season with the game-high 17 points and 10 rebounds. She went a solid 5-for-5 from the charity stripe and picked up two steals. Moss leads the team in scoring and in rebounds, and has scored in double figures in all but one game this season.
Women's basketball will return to action on Sunday, December 13 against Converse at 2 p.m., in Kimbel Arena.
