Men's soccer Matt Schroeder has been named the Coastal Carolina Athlete of the Week for Oct. 26.

Schroeder finished the week scoring the both goals in two games played. His first goal of the week came in the 1-1 tie versus Presbyterian on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at Clinton, S.C., and his second goal came in the 1-0 overtime win against VMI on Sunday, Oct. 25 at home.

Schroeder scored his first goal of the week in a one-on-one situation with a Presbyterian defender from 15 yards out 15 minutes into the game. Against VMI, Schroeder headed the game-winning goal as senior Djamel Bekka passed off of a free kick with 12 seconds left in the first overtime. Schroeder had a game-high and career-high five shots, including three on goal. Schroeder surpassed his career-high in goals in a season with two.
