Coastal Carolina University junior outfielder Rico Noel (Lawton, Okla./Lawton) has been named the Department of Athletics Athlete of the Week after the 2010 Myrtle Beach Regional and Super Regional.

Noel was named the Most Valuable Player of the Myrtle Beach Regional after hitting a walk-off home run in an 8-7 win over the College of Charleston. Noel then had a home run in the 10-9 loss to South Carolina June 13. Noel ended the season with a .349 batting average, 18 doubles, two triples and 63 RBI. He also was drafted in the fifth round of the 2010 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft by the San Diego Padres.
