CONWAY - Coastal Carolina Athletics will embark on a new chapter in marketing this July. Chants365, a social media suite will be introduced to inform and connect fans, alumni and students, giving a behind the scenes view of their Chanticleer athletic teams, while at the same time continuing to grow Chanticleer Nation.
While GoCCUSports.com will remain the web home of Coastal Carolina athletics, Chants365 will be a department wide initiative for coaches, teams and staff members to interact more frequently with Coastal Carolina stakeholders using a variety of social media tools.
“In this day and age fans expect information instantly,” said Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Relations Mark Payne. “Our plan is to create a social media platform which compliments and feeds off our official site, GoCCUSports.com. The external relations team has looked at what other colleges and universities around the country are doing with their social media efforts and decided we had to tailor our efforts to meet the needs of both the department and our fans in a cost effective and fun way.
“Our team will work diligently to find the connectivity between one game and the next, one generation of Chanticleer fans to the next, while reaching out to former student-athletes, ticket holders and donors.”
The Chants365 suite will be housed in The HTC Center, the home of Chanticleer basketball and volleyball, and feature several flat screen monitors, computers and tablets. The Chants365 staff of handpicked Coastal Carolina athletics staff, students and interns will monitor, produce and push content through Coastal's multitude of general and sport-specific accounts across all major social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest and Instagram.
“We are excited to currently be one of the only schools at our level to take on an endeavor such as this,” said Director of Athletics Hunter Yurachek. “Chants365 will help us continue onward to our goal of being the premier NCAA Division I FCS institution. I encourage everyone to share this release via their various personal social media platforms.”
Chants365 will feature periodic live chats with Chanticleer coaches along with both current and former student-athletes, contests and looks behind the scenes of numerous Chanticleer programs. In addition, the physical Chants365 room will feature an interactive guest sign-in wall and other cutting edge ideas to grow Coastal’s fan base and brand.
“The plan for Chants356 is to make following Coastal Carolina fun and informative,” said Assistant Director of Athletics for Marketing and Promotions Kevin Olivett. “Our goal is to create a way to engage fans, run contests and even have guests in Chants365 to be fan correspondents.”
The room itself will launch in July. Select fans and contest winners will be able to attend the opening of Chants365 and be guest reporters for the day.
