CONWAY - Coastal Carolina University announced Thursday a partnership with Russell Athletic to become the designated apparel outfitter of the University's Department of Athletics.
The announcement was made jointly by Coastal Carolina's President Dr. David DeCenzo and Director of Athletics Hunter Yurachek along with Senior Director of Marketing for Russell Brands/Team Sports Skip Nickle. Coastal's athletic teams will wear Russell Athletic uniforms, apparel and accessories beginning in August 2011.
"We are excited to have Russell Athletic Apparel partner with us and bring to the table a history of positive strategic relationships," Yurachek said. "It is important to the long-term success of our department to create a consistent brand through our athletic apparel. The uniforms, warm-ups, hats and practice gear worn by our coaches and student-athletes are extremely visible and at the forefront of our brand building strategies with our new partner.
"This agreement is a strong indicator of the type of commitment Russell Athletic has made to ensure our student-athletes are outfitted with the newest and most innovative apparel. We are proud to be part of the Russell Athletic stable of schools."
Over the five-year partnership, Russell Athletic will also provide the funding to create and develop a Russell Team Shop within the new University Bookstore planned for the Student Recreation and Convocation Center.

"With Russell's focus on developing our collegiate business and Coastal Carolina's successes in Division I athletics, we could not be think of a better pairing.
