Coastal Carolina men's basketball freshman Kierre Greenwood was named the Coastal Carolina Athlete of the Week for Feb. 22.

Greenwood, who also was named the Big South Freshman of the Week, averaged 12.0 points and 4.0 assists for the Chanticleers, and was an impressive 11-of-13 from the field ( =.846 percent) in two games – including 10-of-10 from inside the arc. He scored 13 points, went 6-of-7 from the floor and handed out three assists in Coastal’s win at North Carolina Central on Feb. 15. He followed that up with a team-high 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting in Saturday’s win over Charleston Southern, in addition to five assists and two steals. Greenwood also kept CSU’s Jamarco Warren in check on defense, as he held Warren to 2-of-12 shooting.

Coastal Carolina hosts Liberty Thursday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m.
