Coastal Carolina’s new $8.5 million Adkins Field House opened in June 2010, and is the first green building on campus. Its completion unites most of the Chanticleer athletic staff in one location.
The 55,400-square-foot facility, built at the north end of Brooks Stadium, features a 9,000-square-foot weight room on the first floor for Coastal Carolina athletes in all 17 sports programs, along with locker rooms, meeting rooms and 1,600 extra end-zone seats in front of the building.
The second floor houses offices for baseball, softball, soccer, tennis, golf, track and field, and cross-country. The majority of the third floor is dedicated to football, along with the George F. “Buddy” Sasser Athletic Hall of Fame.
